Thinking outside the Kenpo box?

When you ask a Martial Arts Instructor to explain fighting to you (someone who has a stick or weapon that swings it at you) they of course start off by saying well you get into this stance and so forth.  But if you ask someone who has Kenpo training or a Kenpo Instructor, well they break it down for you in a scientific way of doing things.  As you can see below:

Raining Lance grafted to an alturnate ending (video)

Raining Lance grafted to an alternate ending!  One thing that Kenpo techniques love to do is to “graft” techniques as you fight.  Fighting sometimes is very unpredictable and you have to change the technique if something happens without hesitating or interrupting your flow and that is where grafting comes in.  As you can see in this video the technique starts out with , “Raining Lance” and ends with a C step around to a leg sweep takedown.  Here is the Video technique:

Against a wrist grab (Video)

Very good video!

 Understand this!  This technique is really for women and young girls to do, because it requires little to no effort to get out of the wrist grab.  The move itself is design to use the body weight more than the arm muscle itself.  Watch the video and practice.
